TECHNÄ’

TECHNE establishes an unprecedented approach to the development of clothing, experimenting with a new Additive Manufacturing technique: special 3D FDM printers deposit TPU at high temperatures on tensioned jersey samples which, when released, deform into complex three-dimensional textures and geometries.

The objective of the research was twofold: to make 3D printing both structural and comfortable, and to place it within the Italian context, among technical industrial textiles, handmade fabrics, sustainable materials and processes, creating hybrids, in a mix of tradition and innovation.

Created in collaboration with companies located in the area of Milan, the capsule originated from the blend and experimentation of specific techniques representing Made in Italy’s know-how: 3D printing on Sensitive fabrics in the spaces of the Superforma Fablab; hand weaving recycled materials with the Master of Art Lidia Miotto; discovery of 3D woven fabrics by Gaetano Rossini.
